Fashion Photography

I always love shooting fashion photography because there are so many different aspects of it that I like. It’s not all just about the clothes anymore. It’s about the atmosphere and the location and the personalities of the people around you. There is a lot of creative challenges involved when working as a fashion photographer. You have to think outside the box sometimes!

My favorite part of fashion photography is getting to know your models well before they arrive at the shoot. This way, we get to create something special together. We’ll talk through ideas for poses and outfits.
There’s nothing better than seeing a model who loves what she does and wants to show off their style. And finally, after hours of hard work, editing and post-processing, we’re ready to share our images with everyone else. It takes time and patience, but once you learn some basic techniques, it becomes more accessible every day.

The best part is it’s a very visual industry, and many people can see what you’re doing. When I first started shooting fashion, I focused on making sure my lighting was the best, and the backgrounds were perfect that I would often forget to capture what was happening around me.
